President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received an Italian delegation led by the Governor of the Lombardy region Attilio Fontana, who are on visit in our country.

The meeting helped discuss prospects of Uzbek-Italian multifaceted relations, including those pertinent to enhancing the practical cooperation with Lombardy, one of the leading industrial, intellectual and cultural centers in Italy and the European Union.

The significance of establishing intensive business contacts and exchanges was noted, as was that of implementing joint programs and projects with Italian companies and organizations in the fields of trade, investment, industrial technology, agriculture, healthcare and tourism.  

Particular attention was paid to interaction with renowned universities of Lombardy in training highly qualified specialists, primarily in engineering areas.

An agreement has been reached on the adoption of a “roadmap” to expand mutually advantageous cooperation between our country and the Italian region in preparation for highest-level bilateral events.
