Meeting with AIIB’s Director General for Investment Operations

The Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade hosted a meeting with the Director General of the Investment Operations Department of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Supee Teravaninthorn. The parties discussed the state of ongoing cooperation and further steps within the framework of key areas of cooperation.
Together with the Asian Development Bank, a project is being developed to electrify certain sections of Uzbekistan’s railway network, negotiations are underway with the European Investment Bank on prospects of co-financing a number of projects for construction and reconstruction of heat supply facilities.
Substantive dialogue allowed to carry out a deep analysis of the issues related to the implementation of the indicated initiatives and to jointly work out and agree on effective and mutually beneficial solutions that will be used in further work of the AIIB technical missions in Uzbekistan.
