President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the construction progress of Sergeli metro line.
The line, built according to the resolution of the Head of the state of November 29, 2016, is designed to become an important transport and communication artery of Tashkent. The project cost is 82.6 million dollars, it is planned to lay 7 kilometers of tracks and construct 6 stations. Sergeli branch will connect to the Olmazor metro station of Chilanzar branch, which will connect the densely populated Sergeli district with the center and other districts of the city. A passenger leaving from Sergeli by metro can get to Buyuk Ipak Yuli station without transfer.
The Head of the state followed the progress of construction activities at Olmazor station. He noted the exceptional importance of this line, taking into account the growing pace of development of Sergeli district and housing construction. The President inquired about conditions to be created for metro users.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also visited Yashnabad district, where he became familiar with construction of the ring line of the overground metro.
The cost of this transport network with a length of almost 55 kilometers is estimated at more than 442 million dollars. The project is implemented in five stages. Currently, within the framework of the first phase, an 11-kilometer overground metro line is being laid from Dustlik station to Kuyluk market. Construction of 7 stations is envisaged on this line. Construction of Dustlik-2 and Okhangaron stations has been completed.
The Head of the state made a trip between these stations on a new rolling stock, got acquainted with conditions created at the stations.
The stations are equipped with the latest technology, turnstiles with the possibility of contactless payment for travel, escalators.
In the remaining segment to Kuyluk market, the installation of load-bearing supports was completed, the installation of beams and construction of stations continues.
At the second stage of the project, it is planned to link the Kuyluk market with Olmazor station, then the line will continue to Beruni station, and from there to Bodomzor station. At the final stage, the line closes at Dustlik station and forms a ring.
