Navruz Park to mirror national traditions
2019-08-30 | Politics
As part of his trip around Tashkent today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has visited the newly created Navruz Park.
In accordance with the 7 August 2017 resolution of the head of state, the essential financial and organizational measures were identified, and the Navruz Boghi limited liability company was created.
During a visit to the construction site in February last year, Shavkat Mirziyoyev had come up with recommendations for enriching its substance.
The new park reflects the culture and national traditions of our people: a whole ethnographic village has been erected on an area of 2.5 hectares. There are ‘streets’ named after Karakalpakstan and all regions of the country, with houses in the old style, displaying unique customs, crafts and lifestyles inherent in each corner of the nation.
The image of courtyards with mud walls, terraces, teahouses and workshops is all what appears as ancient mahallas. All this will serve as a source of enriching the knowledge of young people about history and national culture, boosting the sense of patriotism, as well as a tourist destination to attract travelers from abroad.
“This place has a very important role to play in terms of national identity,” the President underscored. “The park embodies our values and history. A nation extensively aware of its history is a proud, powerful, rich nation.”
The head of state stressed that the park should attract visitors not only during the celebration of Navruz, but all year round, and people ought to not only have a cultural rest, but also enrich with spiritual values.
In the center of this new colorful village, an amphitheater has been built for Navruz holiday celebrations. A bridge 88 meters long was erected over the canal flowing through the park.
