2019-08-14 | Society
Bakhodir Begalov, Chairperson of State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, meets with Sascha Graumann, Representative of UNICEF Uzbekistan, to implement Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey.
State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics will be conducting Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey or MICS in 2020. UNICEF will collaborate with the Government of Uzbekistan in conducting this survey. MICS was last done in the country in 2006.
Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey or MICS is an internationally accepted household survey developed by UNICEF since 1995. It is one of the world's largest sources of statistical information on children and women.
Over two decades, MICS has been carried out in more than 100 countries, generating data on key indicators on the well-being of children and women, and helping shape policies for the improvement of their lives.
This is in line with the commitment of the Government of Uzbekistan to improve the quality of national data and to generate internationally comparable data. MICS will help the country in its efforts to meet the Sustainable Development Goals.
The survey will focus on issues related to health, nutrition, education and other key priorities that affect the wellbeing of children and women.
Recall, MICS was last done in the country in 2006.
