Cooperation with international financial institutions on improving infrastructure

On August 13, 2019, Tashkent hosted a roundtable discussion on development of the country through infrastructure improvement within the framework of the visit of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank delegation led by its President Jin Liqun.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was attended by representatives of relevant ministries, sectoral agencies, financial institutions, as well as leading banks of the country.
Issues of development of joint programs for protection of housing stock, development of public utilities, providing population with affordable social housing were discussed at the meeting.
Following the event, agreements were reached on financing a number of projects in modern transport and telecommunications infrastructure, urban development, water supply system.
