Uzbekistan's President speaks with the President of Kyrgyzstan over the phone

On April 29, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Zheenbekov over the phone.
The heads of state noted with deep satisfaction the steadfast positive trend in the consistent enhancement and consolidation of relations of centuries-old friendship and neighborliness between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, and the development of multidimensional cooperation in diverse spheres.
Worth noting has been the dynamic growth in trade turnover and in the scales of industrial cooperation, the mutually advantageous interaction in energy, transport communications and agriculture.
The sessions of the Council of Governors of Border Regions and the Commission on Inter-parliamentary Cooperation have shown the availability of great potential and resolution for the further expansion of partnership.
During the conversation the two sides stressed in particular the importance of steady execution of agreements reached earlier, of full mobilization of opportunities arising from inter-regional cooperation as well as the enlargement of cultural and humanitarian ties.
The Presidents paid special attention to the consideration of regional infrastructure projects. They underlined in particular the significance and economic need for the realization of the project of constructing the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
The sides stated with appreciation the mutual understanding among all participants of that project and their willingness to further the cooperation.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Sooronbai Zheenbekov also exchanged views on pressing issues in regional and international affairs.
In conclusion to the phone conversation the heads of state reconfirmed firm resolution to comprehensively develop the mutually beneficial cooperation, bolster the traditional Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership for the good and in the interests of the two fraternal peoples.
