Uzbekistan celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Russian National Cultural Center.
Participants of the event, dedicated to wide celebration of Russian National Cultural Center Foundation Day, laid flowers to the monument of Shoakhmad Shomakhmudov.
A solemn event was held at Friendship of People Palace on the occasion of this event.
Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan R. Kosimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Uzbekistan V. Tyurdenev noted that on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, cooperation between the two countries has been consistently developing.
Representatives of the center and its regional branches constantly attend Navruz, Independence Day, Memorial Day, Constitution Day celebrations, “Uzbekistan is our common home” friendship festival. The events held together with various organizations, dedicated to works of Russian poets and writers Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov, Lev Tolstoy, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Anna Akhmatova, Sergey Yesenin, play a special role in Uzbekistan’s literary life.
Guests got acquainted with activities of Yesenin house-museum in Tashkent. They were presented a performance of the State Academic Russian Drama Theatre of Uzbekistan. Presentation of 100-volume books “Pearls of Russian literature” published in cooperation with Uzbekistan Writers Union and Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan became a real gift for literature fans.
A gala concert of artists, Uzbekistan and Russia art groups, and ensembles of national cultural centers was held at Friendship of People Palace.
