On April 16, the delegation of France led by Secretary of State to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne began its visit to Uzbekistan from a trip to the city of Samarkand.
At the meeting with the khokim of Samarkand region E.Turdimov it was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and France is consistently developing in trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres. The visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to France in October 2018 expanded the possibilities of continuing this interaction at a new stage.
Important projects are being implemented in Samarkand region, together with French entrepreneurs and companies. Thus, within the framework of the project of the French Development Agency “Modernization of solid waste management in the city of Samarkand”, a system of integrated waste management is being created in the city, which includes environmental protection, efficient use and careful conservation of natural resources, waste collection, processing and neutralization using innovative solutions.
At the meeting, views were exchanged on qualitative implementation of this project in a timely manner.
Members of the delegation took part in the opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of France established in the city of Samarkand.
The guests visited the historical monuments of Samarkand and in the afternoon departed for Tashkent.
On the same day, the delegation got acquainted with projects implemented by the French Development Agency at Charvak reservoir of Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region.
