The Ministry of Justice and USAID implement a joint program on judicial reform worth more than 10 million USD

The launch of the USAID Judicial Reform in Uzbekistan Program took place in Tashkent.
The event was attended by the Minister of Justice R.Davletov, representatives of USAID and other international organizations, civil society institutions.
Implementation of the USAID Judicial Reform in Uzbekistan Program (JRUP) worth more than 10 million USD covers a three-year period. The program aims to support the efforts of the government of the country on ensuring the rule of law, further reforming the legislative and judicial systems, as well as promoting the growth and development of civil society in Uzbekistan.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Justice, among the main objectives of the program are support for ensuring the rule of law, improving the professionalism of lawyers and employees of the judicial system, creating a favorable legal environment for civil society and NGOs.
The USAID Judicial Reform Program is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice and other government agencies, as well as with organizations and civil society institutions. It is expected that it will give a new impetus to the achievement of the main goals outlined in the Country Development Strategy for 2017-2021.
