Uzbekistan chairs one of the sessions of the WHO Regional Office for Europe

The city of Istanbul, Turkey, hosts a high-level ministerial meeting of the World Health Organization’s Regional Office for Europe. It is dedicated to protecting people from health emergencies together. Health ministers from 53 member states of the WHO Regional Office for Europe and international experts are attending the event. Uzbekistan delegation led by the Minister of Health of the country Alisher Shadmanov is among the participants.
During the three-day meeting, issues of global importance in health are discussed in detail. In particular, participants are becoming interested in discussions on strengthening responsibility for improving effectiveness of healthcare in emergency situations and paying attention to its implementation.
As reported by the Information Service of the Ministry of Health, discussions are held in separate sessions. In particular, the final plenary session, where the movements and the next steps in development of healthcare in the region until 2023 were widely discussed, was chaired by the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov.
