Uzbekistan confectioners visit Austria’s Esarom

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Austria Sherzod Asadov met with the President of Esarom GmbH Ernst Kunze and other responsible employees of the company.
The Esarom was established in 1946 and today the company is among the five largest producers in the world in its segment.
At the meeting, issues of expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan were discussed, including creation in the country of high-tech production of food ingredients, as well as introducing the company’s experience in promoting Uzbekistan’s confectionery products and the food industry on international and regional markets. For this, as the Austrian partners noted, Uzbekistan confectionery industry has all the possibilities, including for expanding its presence not only in the CIS markets, but also in the EU.
It was emphasized that plans of Uzbekistan Government on actively developing the food industry in the country, primarily the confectionery, meat and dairy, and wine and vodka production, inspire confidence in Esarom regarding the need for development of a long-term presence strategy in the country.
At this stage, the company expressed its willingness to conduct, in cooperation with Uzbekistan partners, in particular the largest confectionery complex in the region, Crafers (former Amilov), detailed analysis of the markets of Central and East Asia and jointly develop a number of recipes that meet international standards organic, halal and kosher with the purpose of establishing their production in Uzbekistan and subsequent exports.
Company leaders expressed their readiness to provide full assistance in carrying out all necessary laboratory tests at its head office in Austria and preparing necessary documentation for certification, including in the European Union.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, an agreement was reached on organization in Tashkent and Vienna of regular trainings for improving the skills of the food industry specialists in Uzbekistan.
