On Uzbekistan – Indonesia political consultations

On November 28, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Nematov received a delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the next round of inter-MFA political consultations.
Views were exchanged on current issues of common agenda. The guests were informed about Uzbekistan’s policy in Central Asian Region.
On the same day, the 7th meeting of Uzbekistan – Indonesia political consultations was held, during which the state and prospects of bilateral relations in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other fields were discussed in detail.
The sides noted the significant potential for development of mutually beneficial relations in almost all areas of cooperation and confirmed their firm intention to increase them.
For the first 9 months of 2018, the trade turnover increased by 1.5 times compared to the same period of 2017 and amounted to about 38 million USD. At the same time, the number of tourists from Indonesia who visited Uzbekistan has almost doubled. In this context, the sides discussed proposals on maintaining dynamics of strengthening relations, expanding the range of mutual supplies of products and services.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, issues of cooperation within the framework of the UN, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international and regional organizations were also considered.
