The Center for Hydrometeorological Service under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan is working on 10 project ideas related to issues of adaptation to climate change, for their subsequent submission to the Green Climate Fund.
This work is carried out within the framework of a joint project of the UNDP, the United Nations Environment Programme and the Center for Hydrometeorological Service under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan “Training Program of Uzbekistan to access the Green Climate Fund’s resources”.
Within the framework of the project, Uzbekistan is preparing ideas and proposals aimed at adapting to global climate change for further submission to the Green Climate Fund.
Thus, the interdepartmental working group of the project accepted and considered more than 20 project ideas, of which 10 most relevant and promising were selected. Currently, documentation is being collected for four projects, which will be the first to be submitted to the international fund for consideration. In addition, the possibility of accrediting local organizations that will represent the fund in the country is being considered.
