Uzbekistan athletes, who won 35 gold, 24 silver and 18 bronze medals at the III Asian Para Games, held in the Indonesian city of Jakarta, returned to the homeland.

Representatives of ministries and agencies, general public, mass media, parents and sports fans met them at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov.

At the III Asian Para Games, about 3 thousand athletes from 43 countries competed for the victory in 18 sports. Uzbekistan national team delegated 54 athletes. They competed in powerlifting, judo, shooting, swimming and athletics championships.

During the championships, members of Uzbekistan sports delegation set 2 World, 12 Continental and 13 Asian Para Games records. 

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Abdukhakimov delivered a speech at the event.
