On telephone conversation of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan Presidents

On October 5, 2018, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. This has been reported by the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The President of Uzbekistan warmly congratulated the President of Tajikistan on his birthday and expressed sincere wishes of good health, prosperity and new success.
The sides noted with satisfaction that regular meetings and contacts at the highest level will contribute to strengthening friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.
It was noted that fruitful negotiations held during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan on August 17-18, 2018, the agreements and bilateral documents signed on their results will serve to further development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
The effectiveness of meetings and negotiations held within the framework of the working visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Dushanbe on September 27-28, 2018, to attend the regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of States, was noted.
Trade and economic relations are actively developing. The trade turnover is increasing, cooperation in various sectors, interaction in transport-communication sphere is increasing, partnership between regions is strengthening, cultural-humanitarian exchange is expanding.
The sides noted the importance of regular working contacts at the level of governments, ministries and departments of the two countries in order to develop practical cooperation and full implementation of the reached agreements.
Following the conversation, the heads of states reaffirmed their commitment to comprehensive expansion of multifaceted mutually beneficial relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan based on centuries-old friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership principles.
