A large manufacturing facility is commissioned at Uzbek Metallurgical Plant

On August 29, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the city of Bekabad.

On August 18, the Head of the state visited the joint stock company Uzbek Metallurgical Plant and outlined measures for radically increasing its production capacity and improving the financial and economic situation.

On August 29, 2018, the opening ceremony of one of the investment projects implemented here was held – a plant for production of ferroalloys. Employees of the enterprise, responsible persons of the sphere, foreign investors took part at the event.
 
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev solemnly put into operation a new ferroalloy plant with a project cost of $60 million, which is equipped with modern energy-saving technologies and advanced equipment.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev solemnly put into operation a new ferroalloy plant with a project cost of $60 million, which is equipped with modern energy-saving technologies and advanced equipment.
The new plant is built with participation of the South Korean company Posco Daewoo and is capable to produce 25 thousand tons of ferrosilicon and ferro silico manganese a year. This will not only ensure the needs of the metallurgical industry, but also export an average of 8 thousand tons of ferroalloys a year and provide an inflow of currency at the amount of $12 million, as well as reduce imports.
 
330 youth who have mastered modern technologies will be employed.
 
Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the technological processes in the new plant, talked with South Korean partners. The Head of the state was presented projects within the framework of the investment program of JSC “Uzmetkombinat”.
 
The management of the plant and officials were instructed to increase the number of such facilities by implementing new investment projects, creating additional jobs and increasing the level of employment of the population.
