On August 18, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with projects on development of infrastructure of the city of Samarkand. This was reported by the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As it is known, the construction of "Samarkand city" is planned on an area of almost 14 hectares along the Amir Temur street. The project is implemented within the framework of the program of measures on accelerating development of the tourism potential of the city of Samarkand and Samarkand region for 2017-2020. Foreign investors are attracted, the first contracts and agreements are signed.

“Samarkand city” will become a center of modern tourism due to its historical monuments. It is necessary to make sure that it provides advanced services in the sphere. Facilities and entertainment centers should work constantly, justify the invested funds and bring income”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The Head of the state noted the need to design a master plan of Samarkand in cooperation with foreign experts, construction of small hotels along with large ones.

"All in Samarkand – roads, buildings, transport, even benches – should be thought out and convenient for people”, the President said.
