A roundtable on “Parliamentary control in implementation of national programs and achievement of sustainable development goals” was held at the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 

The event, organized by the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the Development Strategy Center, Institute of Problems of Legislation and Parliamentary Studies under the Oliy Majlis, the United Nations Development Programme, was attended by deputies, senators, representatives of political parties, researchers and representatives of the UN structures in Uzbekistan. 

During the debate and discussions, processes related to the increase in the role and importance of parliament in achieving the sustainable development goals were discussed. 

Participants expressed their opinions and made suggestions on the main directions for development of parliamentarism, enhancing the effectiveness of parliamentary control, the role of parliamentary diplomacy in sustainable development of international relations.
