On April 23, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived in Uzbekistan on a state visit at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. 

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Aripov met the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov. 

During the bilateral meetings and negotiations at the highest level, it is planned to discuss issues of strengthening and developing multifaceted Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan relations, current regional and international problems. 

The program of the visit also includes participation of the heads of states in the opening ceremony of the Ashgabat Park in the city of Tashkent. This place will become one of the bright symbols of friendship and good-neighborliness between the two countries and people. It is also planned to visit the border region of Khorezm. 

Within the framework of the visit, a business forum of representatives of the leading economic structures of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan will be held. 

Following the negotiations, a Joint Statement of the Heads of states will be adopted, a significant package of documents aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, transport, communication, education spheres and in sports will be signed.
