Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan: Interregional cooperation is strengthening

The first meeting of the Council of Heads of Border Regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Ministers of the two countries, in Fergana.
The Prime Ministers of the two states noted that the strategic partnership between the two countries, activities carried out on development and strengthening cooperation based on friendship, good-neighborliness and mutual trust, have reached a new level.
Cooperation between the border regions, attraction of investments, expansion of ties in the spheres of tourism, culture and enlightenment, improvement of conditions for citizens on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border and increasing the number of checkpoints were discussed at the meeting.
Within the framework of the event, an exhibition of products produced by industrial enterprises and entrepreneurs of Fergana, Andijan and Namangan regions was organized. Mutually beneficial contracts were signed at the exhibition with participation of representatives of the neighboring country.
