95 manufacturing enterprises of “Uzbekcharmpoyabzali” association produce leather goods, footwear, haberdashery products.

These enterprises in 2017 produced industrial products for 703.1 billion sums, consumer goods – 241.9 billion sums, leather and leather haberdashery products, footwear by almost 8 billion sums. Leather goods at the amount of $103 million were exported, which is 9.2 percent more than last year. During the past year, 1,100 jobs were created through the implementation of 65 projects. 

This was discussed at a press conference held at the National Press Center by “Uzbekcharmpoyabzali” association. 

Important measures are being taken on improving the quality and efficiency of activities, introducing innovative technologies into the sphere. Particular attention is paid to attracting foreign investments together with regional khokimiyats for further development of the industry, full use of production capacities, modernization of existing and creation of new enterprises. 

In particular, the largest investment projects to be implemented in 2018, are the organization of polyurethane production in Tashkent, artificial fur in Andijan region, footwear from artificial leather in Fergana region. Implementation of these projects will serve to increasing exports and creating 210 new jobs.
