Population of Tashkent increased by five percent over the past five years

By the end of 2018, the population of Tashkent is expected to increase to 2 million 498 thousand people.
By the end of 2017, the number of residents of Tashkent reached 2 million 465 thousand, in 2012 this figure was 2 million 342 thousand people.
In 2018, the number of students studying in Tashkent is expected to decrease. Therefore, if about 109 thousand students were registered last year, this year their number will decrease to almost 7 thousand.
The highest indicator on the number of pensioners was recorded in 2017 – 326 thousand. This year, this figure is expected to decline to 312 thousand.
