Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on physical culture and sport R.Kurbonov and others noted that constant attention paid to the development of sport, including Olympic sports in our country is giving its results. The infrastructure of the sphere that is developing year by year, contributes to establishment of a healthy lifestyle among youth, realization of their talents and potential, organization of prestigious sport tournaments. 

Resolution of the Head of our state on training athletes of Uzbekistan for the 2020 XXXII Summer Olympic and XVI Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan of March 9, 2017 serves as an important factor of qualitative preparation of our athletes for the upcoming prestigious contests. 

At the meeting, the report of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee A.Sultanov on activities carried out in 2017 in the sphere of sport, the achieved success was heard. In particular, the Asian championship and international tournaments on a number of sports were organized last year. Our athletes won more than 770 medals at international contests. 

Chairman of Uzbekistan Football Federation Umid Akhmadjonov was elected chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan. Deputy chairmen, secretary general and members of the executive committee of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan were also elected. 

Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Aripov delivered a speech at the meeting.
