The experience of Uzbekistan and Japan in considering appeals

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) and the Administrative Evaluation Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan (Ombudsman).
The event that was held at the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was attended by deputies of the lower chamber, members of the delegation from Japan.
The Memorandum of Cooperation between the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) and the Administrative Evaluation Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan (Ombudsman) promotes raising the cooperation between the two countries in protection of human rights to a qualitatively new level. The document provides for the exchange of information and analytical materials, conduction of scientific research work on the study of international and best practices, the joint organization of conferences, seminars, roundtables and forums.
Within the framework of the event, a roundtable on “Organizational and legal conditions for effective consideration of appeals of individuals and legal entities: the experience of Uzbekistan and Japan” was held.
At this meeting, information was provided on the system of working with the appeals of citizens of the two countries, legislation in this sphere and reforms implemented in this direction.
The delegation of Japan got acquainted with the activities of the People’s Reception Office of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Samarkand region. A meeting with deputies of the Legislative Chamber and members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis was held.
