Meetings of the delegation of Uzbekistan in Germany

A round table on “Uzbekistan in the process of transformation. Policy of reforms: expectations and prospects” with the participation of parliamentarians, representatives of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, research and academic circles, the mass media, business community was held at the Academy of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, in Berlin.
The event was organized with the assistance of the Embassy of our country in Berlin within the framework of the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan consisting of representatives of the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISIS), the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations (IACIR), the “Development strategy” center, University of world economy and diplomacy, deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the press service of the “Development strategy” center, the aim of the round table was to inform the political, expert and public circles of the FRG about the implementation of the Strategy of actions on five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021, the foreign policy initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as developing proposals on expanding mutually beneficial Uzbekistan – Germany cooperation.
Special interest in the German audience was prompted by decisions of Uzbekistan on the introduction of the system of administrative justice, strengthening the independence of the judicial branch, the transformation of internal affairs bodies into a socially oriented professional service.
During the event, the main results of the high-level international conference under the auspices of the United Nations on Central Asia, organized at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held on November 10-11 this year in Samarkand, were presented.
According to German experts, foreign policy of Uzbekistan today is the basis for expanding regional cooperation, ensuring security and sustainable development in Central Asia.
In accordance with the program of the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan conducted a number of negotiations and consultations in the departments of the Federal Chancellor and the Federal President, the Bundestag, the federal ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economy and Energy, Economic Development and Cooperation, the Centre for East European and International Studies, the German Foreign Policy Foundation.
Following the negotiations, the leaders of the ISIS and IACIR signed memorandums of cooperation with a number of authoritative research institutions and “think tanks” of Germany – the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the European Institute for Caucasian and Caspian Studies.
