Following the results of the negotiations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan at the highest level, a briefing was held for representatives of the mass media. 

The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized that the negotiations were held in the spirit of mutual understanding and sincerity inherent in Uzbekistan – Kazakhstan relations, the sides showed unity of opinions on all strategic issues. 

It was noted that interrelations in priority spheres of cooperation between our countries – trade and economy, investment, energy, agriculture, transport and transit are being consistently strengthened. 

Nomenclature of interaction has been replenished with new spheres. Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will develop partnership in the field of defense, defense industry and space activities. 

It was stated that in 2018, the Year of Uzbekistan will be held in Kazakhstan, and the Year of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan in 2019.
