As previously reported, on September 16-17, 2017, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev will pay a state visit to our country at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Within the framework of the visit, a business forum of businessmen of the two countries and the National exhibition of products of Kazakhstan will be held in Tashkent.

The visits of the head of our state in March and April of this year to Kazakhstan, the meeting of the presidents of the two countries within the framework of the SCO summit held in Astana in June, telephone conversations brought the bilateral cooperation to a new level. 

This has given particularly significant impetus to the development of trade and economic relations. In the first half of 2017, the trade turnover between our countries has increased by 11 percent compared to the same period last year. The Strategy of economic cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2017-2019, adopted in March of this year, is an important program document in strengthening of relations in this direction. 

The National industrial exhibition of Uzbekistan and the business forum of businessmen of the two countries that was held in March 2017 in Astana served as a convenient platform for more effective use of existing opportunities in trade and economic relations, wide familiarization of the public of Kazakhstan with products produced in Uzbekistan, achievement of mutually beneficial agreements. As a result of the business forum, trade and investment agreements were signed for more than 1 billion dollars. 

In May this year, an exhibition of commodity producers of Uzbekistan was held in Shymkent. It was attended by 230 enterprises producing products in the food and light industry, construction industry, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, chemical, pharmaceutical, furniture, clothing, sports equipment and toys, which offered 900 kinds of products to visitors. 

There are about 230 enterprises with participation of Kazakhstan capital in our country, in Kazakhstan – over 130 enterprises that are organized jointly with partners from Uzbekistan. The beginning of the assembly of “GM Uzbekistan” cars this year in cooperation with Kazakhstan national company on production of “AllurGroup” vehicles in Kostanai indicates that the priority is given to expanding activities of joint ventures. 

The agreement on interregional cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan has created great convenience for businessmen of the two countries. The visits of the delegation headed by the akim of Kostanai region to Uzbekistan, our delegation headed by the khokim of Jizzakh region to Jambyl region in May this year, and in June – the return visit of the delegation of Kazakhstan headed by the akim of Jambyl region are giving their results today. 

On September 16, the National exhibition of products of Kazakhstan and business forum with participation of more than 500 businessmen of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will be held at Uzexpocentre in Tashkent. 

In particular, about 200 representatives of 120 leading companies of Kazakhstan in the sphere agriculture, trade, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, chemical, food, light industry, construction, services are expected to attend the events. 

B2B meetings will be held within the framework of the forum. Representatives of the delegation of Kazakhstan will conduct negotiations with officials of the state and private sectors of our country on issues of deepening cooperation. 

Various industrial products, including automobile, metallurgical, pharmaceutical industry and others will be demonstrated at the upcoming National exhibition of products of Kazakhstan on September 15-17. 

These events will serve the further development of economy of the two countries, consistent strengthening of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
