2017-06-27 | Politics

In the coming days, electric train will start traveling between the cities of Kokand, Margilan and Andijan. This was reported during the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Fergana mechanical plant.

Consistent work is carried out at the initiative of the head of our state on modernization of the railway network of our country, providing population with qualitative, affordable and safe transportation services. Establishment of the movement of electric train between the large cities of Fergana valley is one of the important steps in this direction.

“Uzbekiston temir yollari” (Uzbekistan railways) joint stock company has modernized 5 electric trains for these directions. As a result, the exterior and interior of vehicles has changed radically. There are air conditioners, modern comfortable seats in wagons. It is planned to bring 10 more electric trains from abroad. Each electric train consists of 6 wagons.
By the end of this year, activities on electrifying the railway from Fergana to Margilan will be completed.

The President of our country noted that establishment of movement of this electric train will be of great importance in raising the level and quality of life of the population of Fergana valley.

Few would have believed if someone earlier said that electric train would travel in Fergana valley. Now Andijan can be reached from Kokand in an hour. This is also the fruit of reforms carried out on the way of interests of our people, creating conditions and amenities that are even more favorable for our compatriots, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Responsible officials were given appropriate instructions on consistent continuation of activities in this direction, completing the construction of Fergana railway station building.
