Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang host the 18th Asian Games. About 10 thousand athletes from 45 countries of the Asian continent are fighting for 476 medals in 40 sports.

At the XVIII Summer Olympics, which will be held from August 18 to September 2 in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang, 232 athletes of Uzbekistan will compete for the victory in 30 sports.

Athletes, coaches and arbitrators from 30 countries, including from South Korea, the United States, Russia, Israel, Ghana, the Philippines, took part in the International Martial Arts Festival, in Fergana.

At the National Olympic Committee, Azim Akhmedkhadjayev was elected the President of Uzbekistan Automobile Sports Federation. This is reported by the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 

On July 3, the President of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Umid Ahmadjonov met with the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Press Service of NOC reports.
