On July 16, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who is attending the High-Level International Conference.

The Head of the state emphasized the importance of further development of traditionally friendly relations between the two countries. The confidence was expressed that the current visit of the Foreign Minister of Kuwait will contribute to the intensification of contacts and exchanges.

The Foreign Minister of Kuwait conveyed to the Leader of Uzbekistan warm greetings and best wishes from the Emir of Kuwait Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and expressed strong support for efforts to strengthen the connectivity between the regions of Central and South Asia. 

Prospects for enhancing practical cooperation, primarily in trade, investment and innovation, finance, food security, information technology, education and others were discussed at the meeting.

An agreement was reached to hold a regular meeting of the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission and prepare a joint program of events within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

A constructive exchange of views took place on the current aspects of the international and regional agenda.
