The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov during the International Conference, in Tashkent.

Further strengthening the strategic partnership and enhancing multifaceted cooperation were discussed.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to the President of Uzbekistan.

The main attention was paid to the preparation of the upcoming summit at the highest level, the promotion of joint programs and projects, primarily in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The development of regional interaction in the context of the aggravation of the situation in Afghanistan was considered.
