On December 30, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The leaders of the two fraternal countries exchanged sincere congratulations on the coming New Year, wished each other and the friendly peoples of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan wellbeing and prosperity.

It was noted with deep satisfaction that in the face of increasing global challenges and threats, a difficult situation in the global economy, friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership between the two countries continued to develop steadily, filling with qualitatively new content.

Mutual support was provided in the fight against the pandemic. Active bilateral contacts, the successful implementation of joint projects in various sectors of the economy continued. Interregional, cultural and humanitarian exchanges enhanced.

Current issues on the international agenda were also considered. The importance of holding next year the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Central Asian region was emphasized.

The conversation between the leaders of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan took place in a traditionally sincere and friendly spirit.
