On March 18, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The current epidemiological situation and unprecedented measures being taken in both countries to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection were discussed in detail.
The importance of continuing close collaboration and implementation of coordinated actions in order to effectively combat this pandemic and minimize possible consequences was emphasized.
Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan also considered current issues of bilateral cooperation and the regional agenda. The importance of timely practical implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level was emphasized.
Heads of states exchanged congratulations on the upcoming holiday of spring, renewal and awakening of nature – Navruz.
Presidents sincerely wished the fraternal peoples of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan peace, welfare and prosperity, as well as reiterated their strong commitment to work together to overcome new challenges as soon as possible.
