Meeting at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation

Representatives of the Embassies of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, American – Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce, as well as Caterpillar Inc., Chevron, AGCO Corporation, ExxonMobil, General Motors and other structures met with the First CEO of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, Adam Boehler.
Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan informed in detail about ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at liberalizing economy by reducing the role of the state in favor of private sector and attracting large investors to privatize state assets.
Issues of implementing infrastructure projects based on public-private partnership in Uzbekistan together with large American companies with the financial support of the Corporation, as well as attracting grant funds aimed at implementing the American experience in developing high-quality feasibility studies in the country were discussed at the meeting.
A joint initiative group was created to further discuss timely implementation of the agreements.
