Uzbekistan, Latvia discuss cooperation issues

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Kadambay Sultanov met with the Director General of Bilateral Relations Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Ilgvars Kļava, in Riga.
At the meeting, prospects for Uzbekistan – Latvian cooperation in various spheres were discussed. Views were exchanged on the upcoming bilateral contacts and interaction within the framework of international structures, including the UN.
Ilgvars Kļava noted his readiness to jointly fill bilateral relations with practical content, including in trade-economic, investment and technological fields.
The importance of enhancing cooperation in cultural and humanitarian field was emphasized. The Latvian side is interested in enhancing educational exchanges, and advocates the continuation of mutually beneficial relations in such areas as the use of clean technologies, training and professional development of specialists at Riga Graduate School of Law, as well as within the framework of the European Union’s BOMCA programme.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to maintain close working contacts on the issues of the current agenda of bilateral cooperation.
