Uzbekistan, Malaysia discuss trade-economic and investment cooperation development
Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov met with Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Muhammed Abdul Khalid, in Kuala Lumpur, Uzbekistan MFA reports.
Issues of further development of bilateral cooperation were discussed at the meeting, including by attracting Malaysian businesspeople to implement joint high-tech investment projects in advanced sectors of the economy.
The need for intensifying cooperation in joint research activities focused on commercialization of their results and creation of specialized industrial parks for the organization of modern production facilities for production of demanded and export-oriented products in the region was also highlighted. It was noted that such parks should become drivers of economic growth in Uzbekistan.
Adviser to the Prime Minister of Malaysia was handed an invitation letter to Tashkent International Investment Forum on March 5-6, 2020. It was stated that this event is the first large-scale event aimed at providing comprehensive information about resource-economic potential and a completely new business climate of Uzbekistan, as well as convenient platform for reaching specific agreements between businesspeople of Uzbekistan and Malaysia.
The need for resuming Joint Trade Committee’s work with its third meeting this year was noted in order to further effectively develop trade-economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
