Winter sports to be developed

On February 4, 2020, a Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures of developing winter sports” was adopted.
Uzbekistan is consistently implementing measures to promote a healthy lifestyle among the population, especially young people, to create necessary conditions and infrastructure for youth to engage in winter sports, to ensure a worthy performance of the country’s athletes in international sports arenas.
According to the document, the Winter Sports Development Program in Uzbekistan for 2020-2023 will be approved in order to develop and popularize winter sports, prepare Uzbekistan athletes for international sports competitions, including the Asian Winter Games in Beijing (China) to be held in 2021, as well as XXIV Olympic Winter Games 2022, and ensure decent participation in these competitions.
