On December 20, 2019, Uzbekistan delegation, led by the Advisor to the President Rustam Kasimov and Deputy Prime Minister Elyor Ganiyev met with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamad.

Head of the Malaysian government conveyed gratitude to the leadership of Uzbekistan for sending a representative delegation to attend the Kuala Lumpur Summit.

He praised the political and socio-economic reforms being carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Prime Minister of Malaysia expressed interest in establishing cooperation between the research centers of the two countries through the implementation of joint projects to study the rich heritage of the Islamic religion.

The parties noted their commitment to further building up multifaceted cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
