Uzbekistan hosts Uzbek-British Education Week. The event is organized by the British Council in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, El-Yurt Umidi Foundation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The week’s goal is to unite and promote advanced training of leading specialists, teachers, and young personnel in the field of education.
The week began with a roundtable discussion on “Opportunities for nationwide education in Uzbekistan”. Information was provided on national and international trends and opportunities in higher education, the activities of advanced education institutions, the development strategy for education until 2030. Views were exchanged on the study of English, the results of reforms and evaluation of education, and the establishment of cooperation with prestigious higher education institutions.
Main market opportunities and problems of nationwide education were discussed at the event, issues of sharing best practices in the educational sectors, strengthening international cooperation, financing various forms of education were raised.
Study UK 2019 Uzbekistan exhibition – an education exhibition in the UK on the example of this country’s 8 universities was organized within the framework of the week.
“The role of the English language in higher education and its impact on the employment of graduates” conference was also held. It is part of the new regional program “Higher education and job support” launched by the British Council this year.
Regional and international role of the English language was considered at the conference. Issues of solving problems of universities, ways of filling the vacuum in higher education were discussed. Suggestions and recommendations were made regarding the requirements of education institutions and employers, employment of graduates, and increasing the potential for generating income.
