Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkey meet in Baku

On October 15, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in Baku.
Heads of states noted with particular satisfaction the strengthening Uzbekistan – Turkey friendship, multifaceted cooperation and strategic partnership.
The President of Turkey sincerely congratulated the Uzbek side on the country’s accession to the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States and noted the importance of this decision for development of bilateral ties and regional cooperation.
Issues of continuing constructive political dialogue, expansion of practical cooperation in economy, trade, investment, energy, tourism and other areas were discussed at the meeting.
The importance of supporting joint investment projects with participation of leading companies of the two countries was noted.
Uzbekistan and Turkey’s Presidents exchanged views on current issues of international policy and regional cooperation, as well as considered the schedule of the upcoming events at the highest level.
