Tashkent and Ankara signed a memorandum on establishing fraternal relations

Mayor of Tashkent Jahongir Artikhojaev held a meeting with the delegation led by Mayor of Ankara, Mansur Yavaş.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations.

Mayor of Tashkent noted that over the past three years, Uzbek-Turkish relations have reached a whole new level. He noted that during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkey, agreements worth more than $ 3.5 billion signed for the implementation of more than 30 projects. The mayor of Ankara thanked the mayor of Tashkent and representatives of the Tashkent administration for the warm and friendly welcome, adding that the development of relations between the two countries and two cities has always been mutually beneficial, and currently there are about 500 Turkish firms and companies in Uzbekistan with annual turnover of 2 billion $.

September 16 can be considered a memorable day in the history of relations between Tashkent and Ankara - the parties signed a memorandum of understanding, cooperation and the establishment of fraternal relations to a new level. The Mayor of Tashkent noted that the document has great importance for long-term and friendly relations between the two countries and two cities and will help strengthen and expand cooperation in the fields of economy, industry, urban planning, art, culture, and tourism. Besides, Mansur Yavaş emphasized that currently there are 3 streets in Ankara called Uzbekistan, 12 streets called Tashkent, 8 Samarkand, 11 Bukhara, and suggested that one of the streets of Tashkent be named after Ankara. 

The delegation led by the Mayor of Ankara Mansur Yavaş also visited the sights of the city and was acquainted with the history, development, and modernity of our capital.
