Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran Bahman Agharazi Dormani.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, at the meeting, views were exchanged on development of situation in Afghanistan, regional and international efforts on resolving Afghan problem and prospects for cooperation between the two countries in assistance to restore the economic infrastructure of the neighboring country.
Pointing to the constructive nature of Uzbekistan – Iran cooperation on Afghanistan, the parties expressed interest in continuing regular consultations on the Afghan problem.
The need for intensifying dialogue between the countries of the region on promotion of the peace process and joint implementation of major economic projects in Afghanistan, stimulating the establishment of peaceful life in this country, was noted.
Iranian Ambassador expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan for constructive cooperation and assistance during his activities on development of bilateral relations.
