Tashkent hosts scientific-practical conference on “The role of the Russian National Cultural Center of Uzbekistan in preserving interethnic harmony, developing the Russian language and culture, preserving the historical memory of compatriots in Uzbekistan”, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Russian National Cultural Center in the country.

The event was held in cooperation with the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries, the Russian National Cultural Center and the Uzbek State University of World Languages. It was attended by representatives of national centers operating in the country, teachers, students, scientists of the Russian Federation and neighboring countries.
At the beginning of the conference, a film was shown about friendship between Uzbekistan and Russia.

Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Kosimov, welcoming the participants, noted that the preservation of social stability, mutual consent, peaceful and calm atmosphere is one of the priority areas of the policy of our state.

Currently, more than 130 national cultural centers and friendship societies are effectively operating in Uzbekistan. One of such active and successful structures is the Russian National Cultural Center of Uzbekistan.

At the conference, the Chairman of Uzbekistan Writers Union Sirojiddin Sayyid presented information about the 100-volume collection “Pearls of Russian Literature”, translated into Uzbek.

Reports on activities of the Russian National Cultural Center of Uzbekistan, the work of Russian scientists involved in development of science and culture in the country in different years, establishing mutually beneficial relations with the Russian Federation, strengthening friendly, cultural and educational relations with foreign countries were heard.
