A press conference was organized at the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi on the eve of the international conference “Central Asia 2019: Internet, Information and Library Resources in Science, Education, Culture and Business”, which will be held in Urgench, Khorezm region on April 24-26 this year.

– Today, reading books and reading culture is being promoted more than ever, – says library director Umida Teshaboyeva. – This means that the conference should be held in accordance with this. This event, first organized in 1999 in Samarkand region, was held until 2014 once every two years, now it is organized annually. About 30 speakers from more than 10 countries will attend the conference this year.

It was noted that practical workshops, master classes, exhibitions on activities of the National Library of Uzbekistan, which will be held within the framework of the international conference, should be organized at a high level.
