Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the European Union Dilyor Khakimov met with the delegation of the European Union, which will visit Uzbekistan on February 4-7 to hold negotiations on the draft Partnership and cooperation agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the EU.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, at the meeting, the parties held final consultations and coordination of organizational and substantive issues preceding the start of the negotiation process.
Importance and key character of the developed document for future relations between the EU and Uzbekistan in the context of deep political and socio-economic reforms in the country, initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was confirmed.
It was emphasized that today a very friendly and respectful attitude towards Uzbekistan has been formed in European institutions. It was noted that the dynamics of multifaceted and systemic contacts between Uzbekistan and the European Union allows speaking positively about the nature of the upcoming discussions.
