2019-01-24 | Tech
On January 22, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States Javlon Vakhabov held a video conference meeting with the Vice President of Valmont Industries Joshua Dixon.
Valmont Industries is a large, publicly held American manufacturer of Valley center pivot and linear irrigation equipment, windmill support structures, lighting and traffic poles and steel utility poles. Today, about half of the irrigated land in the United States (more than 10 million hectares) uses Valmont systems.
Joshua Dixon as part of the Valmont delegation visited Tashkent in November 2018 and met with the leadership of ministries of agriculture and water resources, as well as a number of farmers interested in the technological solutions of this company.
Prospects for implementation of Valmont irrigation and water-saving technologies in conditions of Uzbekistan were discussed at the conference.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, following the meeting, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit of Joshua Dixon to Uzbekistan in February this year to hold a detailed presentation of their technologies, Valmont irrigation sprinklers with subsequent installation in a test mode in one of the districts of the region, providing Uzbekistan farmers with access to Valley University’s electronic knowledge portal, which is a certified distance learning system in agronomy, irrigation, water conservation and water distribution systems.
