Plans for cooperation in financial-investment sector are discussed

On January 22, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in the Benelux countries Dilyor Khakimov met with Frontera Capital’s Managing Director and Shareholder Vicente Pons, in Brussels, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reports.
Frontera Capital is a boutique investment firm, which focuses specifically on frontier markets that has been set-up by a core team of highly experienced financial professionals. It is headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, with offices in London, Amsterdam and several other financial centers around the world.
At the meeting, the parties highly appreciated the results of the working visits of Frontera Capital representatives to Uzbekistan in 2018 and the results of the visit to the company’s headquarters in the UAE by the leadership of Uzbekistan’s Sanoat Qurilish Bank. As it was noted, the agreement signed by Frontera Capital and the bank will allow attracting at least 50 million USD in the near future using investment and credit instruments.
Vicente Pons showed interest in significant banking and financial potential of Uzbekistan in terms of investment. The owner of Frontera Capital has confirmed readiness for practical implementation of projects with financial institutions of Uzbekistan.
Taking into account the ongoing fundamental changes in the banking and financial sphere of Uzbekistan, the parties agreed on the visit of Frontera Capital’s leadership to Tashkent on January 24-26, during which meetings and negotiations in the Government, as well as with the management of a number of commercial and private banks of Uzbekistan, signing of bilateral documents will be organized.
