Tashkent hosted Judo Grand Prix Tournament

Judo Grand Prix series tournament was held at “Uzbekistan” sports complex, in Tashkent. Uzbekistan team won one gold, three silver and one bronze medals.
The prestigious tournament organized by the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, National Olympic Committee, International Judo Federation (IJF),
Uzbekistan Judo Federation together with a number of ministries and organizations, was attended by more than 350 athletes from 50 countries of the world in 14 weight categories.
In championships up to 73 kilograms, Hikmatilloh Turayev, representing Uzbekistan, defeated his rivals Marcel Cercea (Romania), Tommy Macias (Sweden), Benjamin Axus (France). In the semifinals, he defeated a representative from the United Arab Emirates Viktor Skvortov, and reached the final. In the final, fought against Igor Wandtke from Germany, and won a gold medal.
Uzbekistan’s athletes Sardor Nurillayev, Bekmurod Oltiboyev and Diyorbek Urozboyev won silver medals in their weight categories, and Shakhram Akhadov won a bronze in the weight category up to 66 kilograms.
