As previously reported, these days, representatives of the Development Strategy Center are attending the third Shanghai International Forum “One Belt, One Road: Stability and Prosperity in Eurasia”, in Shanghai.

On October 25, 2018, Director of the Development Strategy Center Akmal Burkhanov met with the Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Yu Xinhui, as well as with representatives of the Center for the study of think tanks at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.

At the meeting, the sides discussed the growing role of bilateral cooperation between analytical institutions of Uzbekistan and China in recent years, as well as identified prospects for cooperation in the coming period, especially on the eve of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

According to the Development Strategy Center, the Chinese side proposed to expand the format of cooperation between think tanks of the two countries and strengthen cultural-humanitarian cooperation, erasing cultural barriers.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed hope for revitalization of agreements set forth in the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Development Strategy Center and the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, which was signed in April 2018.
